North Shore Rat Club

Hi my name is cassidy i live in hawaii and i have started a rat rescue on the island of oahu! i curently have about 20 rats living in my house as a part of my family. i have had pet rats for the past few years and when i got my first rat i just about died when i had to move and it was going to cost $300 to take her with me...so i gave her to my best friend. then when i got to hawaii and got a house and every thing i went to go and pick up my new little rat babies. i was only going to get 2 but wound up taking all 5 girls. then about a year later my friend got a rat and she had it for about a month and then it got  a tummor and she didnt want it any more =( thats when i got the idea of starting a rat rescue. so i took her rat and then posted adds on craigslist about my rescue with in the first week i got tons of donations and picked up a total of 5 rats. scince then i have taken in over 30 rats and found homes for 18 of them!

I live in Salem, MA with my husband.  Together we have 25 animals - fifteen rats, six birds, a big fuzzy lop earred bunny, two fish, and a Uromastyx.  We are hoping to have fun meeting lots of other local pet owners.  I already have a club for local rat owners and thought it might be fun to expand to other types of animals since we don't only have rats!
